Associate / Full professor

Werkomgeving

The Department of Biomedical Science (BMS) is embedded within the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) and the University of Groningen (RuG). Research at BMS aims to discover molecular mechanisms underlying age-related diseases. Our goal is to identify and target these mechanisms to prevent or delay disease and promote healthy ageing. Our research teams are working with different model systems and state-of-the-art technology platforms. We work in close collaboration with basic, preclinical, and clinical departments of the UMCG and the RuG, and with various local, national, and international private partners to accelerate the translation of our discoveries. BMS is housed at the Healthy Aging campus where Academia and Life Sciences companies meet and located in central Groningen, a University town in the northern part of the Netherlands.

Functiebeschrijving

We are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious, mid-career Associate/Full professor with a proven track record in the field of cellular protein homeostasis. We are specifically seeking a candidate with expertise in the protein quality control systems responsible for managing the response to protein folding stress, and a keen interest in understanding of how these systems become compromised during aging to cause age-related diseases.
