You will join MOLGENIS, the big data science
research & service infrastructure at the University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG). Our mission is to accelerate scientific discovery in health using, large data, open-source software and high-performance computing, enabling integrated analyses for rare disease, common disease, population cohorts, genetics, and multi-omics data. You will be part of a social, multi-site, multi-disciplinary team working on large-scale EU-funded projects, aimed at improving life-course health for citizens and patients: 1 Professor, 2 Postdocs, 5 Project/Team Leaders, 2 Product Adoptions Leads, 8 Scientific Software Developers, 8 Data Managers, 3 System Administrators, 3 PhD students.
We are looking for a proactive Research Data Coördinator / Data Manager to accelerate large health research via our ‘FAIR’ IT infrastructure: data catalogues, patient registries, *omics and imaging, high performance computing and federated analysis. You will primarily work with
MOLGENIS, the long-standing open-source research infrastructure developed at the UMCG and used across the world. In this role you will:
- Serve as the main point of contact between external data managers, researchers/users and project coordinators in large national and European projects, and our internal MOLGENIS technical teams.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor the onboarding of data and users, including their integration with local IT and legal processes.
- Provide hands-on data management support and triage complex issues to specialist colleagues.
- Lead and support the adoption of MOLGENIS and other open-source tools for data cataloguing, federated analysis, and multi-centre study management.
- Contribute to training materials and workshops for data users and managers and guide data partners on best practices in research data management.
